Kings Cross in Sydney has to be one of God’s most miraculous creations. Despite the death there is so much damn life to be had here. Every god forsaken person that inhabits this dirty town escapes the rat race only to become trapped by it. Utter beautiful madness.

Difficult Music Festival 2010
These are photos I took at the Difficult Music Festival. It’s an underground music festival which happened in Sydney, Australia at a tiny place called Sedition aka The Barber Shop.
PIC: Rats With Wings do the drillbit drone… for 18 minutes.
The bands were noisy and took underground music to a level of shock that was totally refreshing. To give you an idea of the music check the shocking band on tonight’s bill – Rats With Wings, Cock Safari and Prehistoric Fucking Morons (who sound just like that).
The venue is called the Barber Shop because it operates as both a record store AND barber shop. The shop is on Darlinghurst rd, between the red light light district and St. Vincents Hospital.
The guy that runs it is a middle-aged fellow and the shop specializes in loads of cool reggae, soul, funk and general esoterica like the occult, counter-culture type stuff… and yes, you can get your haircut as well!
The sets were short and the gig finished early, so some of the other photos below are just random shots from the back streets of Kings Cross and Darlinghurst.
